Dear Kindergarten Families,

Just a reminder that Permission Slip for the concert next Thursday (Dec 12) must be returned by tomorrow.  Please include $5.50 to cover the cost of the bus.  Once we have received all of the permission slips we will put the names of the parents who wish to go as chaperones in a hat and we will choose 6 parents (3 from Grade One and 3 from Kindergarten).

We hope you are enjoying playing the games the children are bringing home.  We are beginning the second turn for each child to bring a game home!

Advent has begun and so have our Acts of Kindness!  On Monday the children made ornaments for the Parish Staff.  On Tuesday we made Christmas decorations for the paramedics.  On Wednesday we made a book to say thank you to the Story Theatre group that performed for our school.  We also made a book for Constable Peralta (our RCMP school liason officer). Today we wrote a letter to our Kindergarten penpals at Immaculate Conception School in Vancouver.  We also made them Christmas cards.  Tomorrow we are making Christmas cards for our “Grandma and Grandpa Readers” and we will sing some songs for them.  The Senior Adults come in once a month to read to our Kindergarten children.   As you can see we have been very busy this week!  The children are beginning to understand that our Acts of Kindness make other people want to do acts of kindness.  As one child said, “the kindness will keep going and going and never stop!”.  We encourage you to do an Act of Kindness on Saturday and Sunday.  We will continue next week with our Acts of Kindness at school.

Just a quick note about our Christmas concert.  The children have almost perfected their song and dance that they will be performing on the 18th!  We will be asking the children to wear their Sunday best for the afternoon and evening performances.  Since our number is called “Boogie Woogie Reindeer”  we are suggesting that you have your child wear Reindeer antlers (around $1 at the dollar store).  This is optional and we do have around 8 pairs of antlers in the classroom if you are unable to find them at the store.

If you have any questions please contact us at school or email us.

Thank You,

Mrs. Whitlock and Mrs. Ison
