Dear Parents,

The Grade Six class is taking over Crossing Guard Duty from the Grade Sevens this month. Mr. Fraser gave the class a training session last week followed by a shadowing session in which the Grade Sixes observed experienced Grade Sevens on the job. Now it is time for the Grade Sixes to take the reins!

Crossing Guard is from 8:25-8:50 am and 2:55-3:20 pm. With input from the class, I have made up a two week rotating schedule. I have done my best to accommodate students’ schedules. If students are unable to make a shift I have asked them to find their own subs. If you notice a recurring conflict, please let me know.

Some students are on the schedule more frequently than others. There were a few days which were more difficult to fill and some students were eager to step up to the plate and volunteer for additional shifts. We will work with this schedule until the end of March and then create a new schedule for the remaining three months of school.

The first “Week One” starts January 20th. The first “Week Two” will begin January 27th. If, as in the case of this first week, there is a Pro-D day or other day off, students scheduled on Crossing Guard duty for that day will simply miss that shift. I will send home a hard copy of the calendar on Tuesday.

Thank you in advance for your support! I appreciate all students’ enthusiasm and service to the school.

Sincerely,

Andrea Phillips
