A letter was sent home today regarding speech arts. The Grade Seven students will all be participating in this program, as they will be writing speeches in class. This is part of the students’ Language Arts curriculum, so it is unnecessary for them to return the permission slips to school. The speeches will not be sent home for now. Once the students have completed the writing process, they will prepare to deliver them orally in front of the class. They will be encouraged to practice at home at that time, and will certainly be permitted to make changes to their work. We will deliver the speeches in class in late February. I will let the students know the exact dates closer to the time. After the in-class presentations, approximately 10 students will be chosen to deliver their speeches at the school-wide festival at the end of March.
