Dear Parents,

Today the Grade Six Class enjoyed an hour-long visit from the Consulate General of Japan.  The focus of their presentation was Japanese food.  The class was able to see realistic models of many Japanese dishes and even got to sample beef sukiayi which was made before the students’ eyes.

A knowledgeable presenter of Japanese descent educated us on the  history of many favourite Japanese foods and explained the ways geography and other factors influenced the evolution of Japanese cuisine.

The presentation, aimed at raising awareness of Japanese culture, was both excellent and completely free!

Please ask your child about this interesting experience.

Have a great evening!

Sincerely,

Andrea Phillips
